I am going to be revamping Tai Pan.
I will also be working to Integrate Vice a bit more into the setting. Making them more of an antagonistic power.

Re: Changes to Taipan and Vice
With Tony having left the staff team, I believe this project has fallen to me. I am willing to continue working on Tai Pan pages, but I’m always open to suggestion, critique, and help to make this part of the website the best it can be. I will take the time to outline my rough plan and what I want to see out of Tai Pan.
The Tai Pan Empire will continue to be an authoritarian empire, mildly dystopic in nature, with plenty of neon hell and assigned space for everyone. Its people are mostly content, or at least unaware they have might have cause to be unhappy, and feel protected by a system that gives them purpose and harmonious living.
In terms of theme, Tai Pan will no longer be strictly Sino-centric, instead I will slowly be incorporating other cultures that the Taianese have picked and chosen from earth lore. Indian, Japanese, Korean, perhaps others. Their language is no longer a 1-1 of Chinese, and will be a fictional, planned language called Kantongo. It is illegal to speak kantongo outside the prescribed manner within the Empire, including the creation slang or with poor grammar; and it deliberately lacks context on certain subjects prescribed by the cultural ministers, who neglect to make words for those subjects. Due to this denial of context as a cultural aspect, one of the greatest gifts to receive from the Emperors court is a quill and writing silk.
The forms are being cut from twelve different forms down to three High forms and a single Low form. Dragons, Rabbits, and Tigers. Dragons are mostly unchanged, although parts of their lore will be updated. Rabbits are being revamped, becoming far less fluffy and far more integrated in tech, being known as rabbits due to their horns that look like ears. Tigers, AKA by the team as Thunder Cats, are becoming much more physically imposing. Overall Taianese are becoming less living super computers, and more highly augmented, intelligent, but still relatable beings to some degree. The Low form are the Kammee, genetically modified organisms made from the captured DNA of humans and elves from the Liang Wars and made as servants and menial laborers for any tasks the Tai Pan Empire needs to throw lots of hands at.
Part of this project has been a rework of elf and yazata lore, most of these have been taken care of in their own little projects (Yazata Mazda still pending at this time). Elves are mostly unchanged, while Yazata have had an extensive revamp, converging both the Angels and Devils into a single race from different culture groups, and added a few new pieces of lore, culture, and history to them. This project will continue as I find the time.
Currently I would like to get the each of the Taianese form articles complete before starting a second pass to improve the ability for players to create the stories they want within and without the empire. Including adding more examples of character backgrounds, adding more locations with descriptions to set scenes for roleplay, and making sure it all ties together coherently in a reasonable manner. Jongwu will also be getting a rework and expansion, at a later date to make them a properly playable race for those inclined. I will also be adding support for what are currently being called Oddbodies, for those who wish to play legacy forms, or want to experiment with the limits of Taianese technology.
The vast majority of this work has been undertaken by me, with the gracious blessings of the other staff members, and indispensable help of several other writers who put up with me poking them to read my awful drafts. As well as those who donate art, inspiration, ears, and the occasional hug to each of these pages.
If you would like a say in what setting elements I work on next, you can contact me here or through Discord. I also run regular polls to determine community interest.
Until next time, adventurers.
