Re: Vortex V1000 Crossbow Series
It looks pretty good to be honest, though, since I was into archery, a few things stand out to me. The power of a bow or crossbow comes from the limbs, and not the string like in a slingshot. The limbs are like springs that are pulled back, and impart their energy to the arrow or bolt with the string being simply the means of doing so. This means you want crossbow limbs that can bend like springs, yet travel back really fast. It's why cams are added to the ends of the limbs; they are actually levers that snap back into position and impart that energy to the string and bolt really fast. This also means that you want a string material that's really strong, won't fray, will travel quickly with the limbs, and won't stretch. Once a string does stretch though, it's a sign to get a new one before it snaps.
Meanwhile, with the crossbow bolts, having so many lengths and weights of the same type is kinda overkill. I suggest simplifying things. Additionally, modern crossbows typically use bolts that are nearly indistinguishable from regular arrows; they don't need to be short and thick like oldschool ones to survive being loosed due to modern materials. Most are 20 inches in length unless they're for a pistol model I think. Also, I suggest having a few hunting arrows, since these all look like military ones. Check out some of the modernized broadheads, spring loaded heads, guillotine turkey heads and fishing heads. You can also try some gadget heads such as grapplers, gas and camera heads for an example.

Re: Vortex V1000 Crossbow Series
I am familiar with archery.
I used to own a 150-pound crossbow.
Looking at the article I can tell you did a lot of research. So I can say that the article itself is pretty factual.
However, I am in line with what Cadet just said. With crossbows, the arrows themselves down matter. What is important is the head of the arrow, which you can get some wonderous variety.
The price of the weapon is a criticism I have. We are edging away from "Credits" I guess what I'd recommend is find out what faction makes this weapon and that's whose money the weapon would be sold in.
Other than that these are good articles. I look forward to seeing art of the Crossbow!
I give it an A.
