The colony world of Sansei in the Rarjuni system had always been a minor jewel. The farmlands that dotted the landscape around the temperate majority of the world. Farther north than the equators laid a range of mountains that acted like a massive wall against the frozen snow and ice that resided behind it. A great ocean seperated the two large continents, with numerous islands sprinkled between. It was a paradise of pure protected providence. It was awarded to the Lord Isao Sutauto as payment for his service in the Atraxian War that was oh-so-recently ended. To him, it was land to be honed and built. It was also a fortress, a fortress that would allow him to retire slowly from his leige-lord's heavy gaze. It was once considered a punishment for a soldier to be given charge of land, especially one who had sworn for eternal service. Now, it was a gift from whatever god had given him favor.
Lord Isao sat upon his horse looking over a river valley in the shadow of the great mountain range. He could see where his city was being built, and on the massive hill at one end of the valley his castle and estate. It was an unholy mix between fantastical ancient-looking buildings of the elder Liang masters' architecture and the modernized amenities that afforded the City of Glass of Heled. It was a mix that never should have been.
He turned to his travelling companion, his second, and one of his younger generals. Sir Hitoshi Takao was once a Watchmaster of the Liang Imperial Army, but had avoided the fate that his Lord had. He had been a wayfarer with a band of soldiers and had heeded the call of Isao and Aniseth for the sons and daughters of Liang to make the journey to Kowloon. He was an older man, a full-blood Liang Tatya hini who cared not for his Lord's bastardized blood.
"My lord, we should return to the estate. You wife and daughters will be arriving shortly from Heled. We also must get a muster together of all able bodied men and women who are willing to march. We have words there are still pockets of Atraxian warbands that used the planet as a jump-off for raids."
Isao was quiet for a moment before he turned to face him, horse and all. "Yes, we should." His voice was tired, exhausted. "Let's go Hitoshi."
