Temporary Submission Process

While the Administrative team is coming up with a better process, this is the process which will be used in the interim in order to facilitate new setting elements into the Wiki, for use in the broader Shattered Universe Setting.

The following process is based on the discussion notes regarding a proposed system as of 5/10/19, and compiled by Gallant/Mike for temporary usage while the specifics are being discussed.

General process:
  1. Wiki article will be posted under the “gundeck” sub-section of the wiki.
    1. [[gundeck:name_of_wiki_article]]
  2. The submitter will create a post containing the URL and any other notes they deem appropriate in the “Wiki Workshop” section of the forums.
    1. Title will be "Name of Article/Submitter/Date"
    2. Link to the wiki article will be contained in the body.
    3. Failure to comply with the simple format will result in post deletion.
  3. The Wiki article will be discussed for a maximum time of 1 week.
    1. Wiki article must be original.
    2. Wiki article must be well-written.
    3. Wiki article must not resemble previous setting elements.
    4. Wiki article cannot be about prohibited species.
    5. Wiki article must be for use in an ongoing, or planned plot, or shall expand a current setting article. I.E. – there must be a purpose for the article.
  4. After 1 week has elapsed, submitter is responsible for acquiring a Wiki Moderator’s approval, if such has not been already acquired.
    1. If approved, wiki article will be moved to appropriate sub-section of wiki by the submitter and will be considered free for use under common license.
    2. If denied, wiki article will repeat this process from step 3 in same thread.
      1. Reasons will be listed for the denial conforming to the five criteria outlined in 3.
      2. Articles can be submitted a maximum of 3 times before complete denial.

As of 5/19/19, Contact a wiki moderator to start/restart/continue the process.

OLD ARTICLES

Old articles will be grandfathered and will not require resubmission.

PROHIBITED SPECIES
  • Humans. The only humans in the setting come from Jord, Tai Pan, and the Alliance, and are interlopers - not natives.

I will also add to this, we have preexisting templates for characters, ships, species and star systems that need to be used for submissions of these types.
