A Man and his Poem

Post by Jack Pine »

Head in the Cloud by Jack Pine

Doubled over at desktops.
Even while we're at rest stops.
Joining up with our favorite fireteams.
While perception is ripping at the seams.
Working on the deception of another life.

I think I just lost reception.
I don't connect with people I've met.
I only connect to the internet.
I've never set the path.
There is no reset in life.

Disconnected from my Wi-Fi.
My eye spies my surroundings.
It's astounding all that I've missed.
And with a the move of the wrist.
I close the PC.

I see all the possibilities around me.
No need for a medic any more.
They were only hectic distractions.
From the main attraction known as life.
Back from the edge of the knife that cut my reality.

In half with such a digital brutality.
It almost fills me with terror.
To think that I've made such an error.
It's time to leave the pixels behind me.
Now that I see the people that remind me.

That high points in life.
Are more than your number of hit points and lives.
And for the first time in years.
As I step into the crowd.
I can actually pull my head out of the Cloud.

(Yeah I know it's pretty bad sorry. Two year old poem.)

War by (Jack Pine)

A shadow in the light.
One that hurts every young soul that goes to war.
For was speaks loudly to everyone involved.
Most can't even stand the booms, or bangs that happen in war.

Some leave with courage.
Some leave with sorrow.
For war never changes.

For most it is brought to us without our say.
For war is a creature that laughs with giddiness as it follows us.
Through land, sea, and air.
But we say nay and push it away.

For only then do we say yay with our own loud voices.
But with futile results.
For after centuries war only gets stronger.
But we fight on to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Because with love comes peace.
And peace rains her love on every soul.
Weakening war and removing the darkness from the light.

But he will secede and wait for another day.
To the edge of light to where we can't reach.
And one day peace will stay, after he has gone.

(Yeah sucks I know. This one is much older.)
